my sweet sorority sisters threw Kosi & i a Baby Sprinkle (isn't that adorable?!)unisex decor :)i think i had about 36 of those cheese cubes and even took some to-go for my boys. we looooove us some cheese.yes you are, baby Kosi.heeeey, baby Nat! my niece, Natalie is as obsessed with balloons as Dego.lil' bit of everything, please. hard at work making play-doh babies!  i told my hostesses i'm not really a game person, buuuut this one ALWAYS always turns out hilarious.my mom has been referring to baby Kosi as "she" and "her" since we found out we were expecting, haha.  i dunno, Mommy... we shall see ;) my gorgeous, talented, sisters-in-love. grandma Willie!  at my age she was already 9 kids in, y'all.  she had 12 total and doesn't have to worry about me attempting to break her record :Dopening our unisex gifts.love you ladies dearly!! grateful for your presence and love. #SkeeWeei have been eyeing this Skip Hop diaper bag for weeks and snagged it using the Sprinkle gift cards i received!  also, the Ergo Infant Carrier Insert (center) is a great newborn item until baby is plump enough to fill out the car seat solo.

35 Weeks: Maternity Photoshoot Prep

what this past friday afternoon looked like for us.just taking a moment on the floor like we often do.  Dego & i had just gotten home from training clients and a trip to the Nike Outlet for our family maternity shoot outfits.  Chiso was fresh from school and ecstatic about being homework-free.  my hair was halfway done, and i still didn't really know how things would come together with our shoot the next day.my sis-in-law, Kara, told me exactly where to go for big, bold, crazy affordable jewelry; Harwin!  if you're a Houstonian then you are prolly familiar with this area of town.  i figured with goddess locs i might as well go for a goddess look. lol, i don't know!  i need soooo much help with putting outfits/accessories together (maybe this is why interior design is not my thing either, sheesh) and i was so looking forward to getting together with Kara to shop and eat. we couldn't get our schedules together before shoot day so i did my best!saturday morning glaaaaam. a huge thank you to makeup_byMeagan for taking my face on! she did an amazing job.  i am so not used to wearing dramatic, heavy makeup though; it always takes me some getting used to my own face.  as always, my sis, Ogechi, hooked my hair UP.family fitness shoot DONE. omg. we shot the pics inside The Core Gym and once the boys walked in and saw all the toys equipment, their little brains started going 8000 miles per minute!!!  i truly hope the chaos was captured perfectly!  afterwards, i really wanted to just change and go do my individual shots immediately, but Sonny intervened and said we all needed to go take a break, sit down, and eat. i didn't argue! our photographer, Christin, said she was prepared to be with us until we got all our ideas in so of course we kept her well fed. hoping to get the maximum amount of cooperation out of Chiso during the shoot (cause once that window is closed, usually it's a wrap :| ) i told him he could pick where we ate for lunch afterwards.  he excitedly screamed Jason's Deli!  Sonny just knew i persuaded his decision ;) but it was definitely the free soft serve. Christin swore to me she and Chiso would be BFFs by the end of the day but this guy literally ran and jumped in her arms after lunch!Sonny kept the boys company while we shot a few individuals but they naturally made their way into some of them so Christin took advantage.  i wore 3 different Sew Trendy Accessories gowns.dinner time!  and lookie there, lol.Christin could not believe we were about to eat again, haha! Whole Foods Post Oak was a few doors down and perfect cause even the pickiest of eaters can find something tasty there.i went with eggplant parmesan, baked hoki w/ a roasted red bell pepper sauce, sweet potato crunch, a few roasted brussels sprouts, and some sautéed kale.  my cheese obsession never really went anywhere! been going strong all pregnancy.   i also got a few scoops of some unpictured chocolate covered salted caramels from the bulk section for our trip home.  i shared. a little.Papa Gwuat! thank you for chauffeuring us around all day, de-stressing me to the best of your abilities, and for being so patient.  it's a wrap, 35 weeks! i could not wait to whip those lashes off and just get in my bed (after a soak in the tub of course)!  thankful this day is finally behind us; i don't even want to think about holiday photos right now though!! maternity pics coming soooon :)

Blog Elevated 2016

and another one!  this is my 3rd year attending the Blog Elevated conference.friday afternoon i cooked up and prepped a whole bunch of food & snacks for my boys to get them through the weekend.  Sonny has been on a mission since july this year to lose 30 lbs or so before baby #3 arrives. because of meal prep and 6 Pack USA, he made eeeeeeet!  achilles tendon issues and all.  so proud of him.

my girl Ogechi & i usually attend the conference and enjoy a relaxing weekend together but she was unable to attend this year *insert gigantic sad face*.  however, my prenatal fitness client, friend, belly buddy, and fellow mommy blogger, Marissa, was available and made the drive!  i enjoyed hanging out and learning alongside her all weekend; check out her adorable, family, blog and try out her delish recipes while you're there! day 1! the conference was held in the newly remodeled South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center in League City, Texas.  

i was crazy excited and honored to be a fitness ambassador for BE this year! i brought some fresh fruit to snack on throughout the day but y'all know i ate that soon as i got there, lol. lunch time finally rolled around though and roast beef sammiches were on the menu. unfortunately, brie is not a pregnancy friendly food, but i was so hungry i dismantled that bad boy and ate the protein and that pickle.Marissa headed out to find other options and did just that; isn't it pretty!?  i told her i'd take an order of whatever she got; this grilled chicken cobb salad hit THE spot.  right back to it after lunch.in between sessions there was "study hall".' it was a chance for us to go over the info we just learned and to take advantage of speaking with some of the BE mentors (other bloggers skilled in a particular area like Twitter or YouTube, etc.).  i have been trying to remain consistent and spice up my YouTube vids for forever!! so, i hunted down Roccibel Volpicella to get some tips.  her primary language is Spanish, so there was a translator present to help us communicate. she doesn't have a blog but has become insanely popular just from her YouTube makeup tutorials!     since IG is my jam, i definitely wanted to attend the, "Perfecting Instagram Panel" session.  each of these ladies (l to r: Meg Owens, Elly Brown, Brittany Ashmore, Jaclyn Kent) gave their own unique tips and pointers for growing their Insta audiences.  they mentioned using some of the photo apps i am already use and love like Snapped, A Color Story, and VSCO. day 2! it's time to move! Kroger sponsored a 7am Zumba class and the turnout was friggin' awesome!  look at all these girls (and 3 guys including our instructor) gettin' their early morning cardio ON!my fave way to start the day.i even won a raffle prize, wuuuut!? yeah, those chocolate almonds came in handy later in the day during sessions. 

some of the breakout sessions were held at the same time, so Marissa and i split up and swapped notes afterwards #teamwork.

we learned about getting the most out of our email lists, tracking our blog analytics, and i especially enjoyed the photography session by Rachel Matthews!  she provided plenty of tips for sprucing up our camera taking skills. 

lunch tiiiime! we dined on grilled chicken topped with pears, wild rice, and veggies while a News Republic rep spoke to us about using multiple revenue sources effectively.couldn't agree more.

34 Week Checkup

i had every intention to get dolled up for today's appointment buuuut i ended up following Dego's lead.  we just want to be comfy.  lol.  we did wear pants though.  seriously, i plan to put more effort into my appearance these last few visits cause it makes me feel darn good when i take the time to do so.  i don't shy away from posting on social when i look a hot mess either though...i'm not ashamed of my reality on the other 5-6 days of the week.  i use the #RealityIG hashtag often cause perfection is not inspiring to me, authenticity is! it's weekly appointment visits from here on out yall.  already!  (i say already like the time has been flying by this trimester, ha).   now is also around the time i get the, "your baby is gonna be so tiny!!" comments the most.  brang'em on!  i know most women mean well (although some directly imply that something is very wrong with me or baby :- | ) , so i always give them the benefit of the doubt.  i'm measuring 35 cms for week 34 according to my OB so all is well, praise be to God.  sometimes people either forget or can't tell from my pics that i'm 5' 10'', but height is only one of the maaaany factors that contribute to bump size. that's a whole nother blog post tho!  the night before my appointment i could totally feel something happening and i got super uncomfy again right before bed... this baby has flipped into a horizontal position again.  the nerve!! we've still got time to get it together though.  my last ultrasound happens on my next visit; can't wait.

Dego and i were pleasantly surprised during my visit; my Instagram Husband walked right through the door, smiling!   so naturally i put him to work, duuuuuh. now i'm gonna go do all the stuff i told my OB i haven't done yet when she asked. you know, re-registering for the hospital, packing my overnight bag, taking maternity pics, dusting off the newborn car seat, naming the baby, etc. mhmm. k. bye.
