WHAT a week last week was🥴! i enjoyed celebrating a few special guys in my life during the month of june.
tuesday the 16th was my daddy’s birthday and we spent most of the day at my parent’s house in north houston celebrating and eating.
my dad is hilarious IRL and jokes a lot but hates taking pictures with a passion!! his shirt is 100% true though❤️.
more pictures outside, of course! gosh i miss truly hanging out with my family without these masks and rules and all these precautions😩.
my brother, Matt, held his breath for this picture smh!
i try to stay positive around the kids, but remaining vigilant about protecting ourselves can be awkward and frustrating at times.
ultimately, we are all healthy, happy, and at home. there are so many things to be thankful and grateful for, even in the midst of so much chaos.
wednesday the 17th was Dego’s birthday and he turned BIG SIX!
big boys get bike boy bikes! he is still head over heels for Paw Patrol, so a Paw Patrol bike was perfect. we are just glad it was available; home workout equipment including bikes have been flying off the shelves since the pandemic hit. anyway, no mo’ training wheels✊🏽.
look how much “baby D.” has grown, yall! gosh.
i also got a quick protective style done by Braided Bella that morning so i wouldn’t look a mess for an upcoming brand campaign Kosi and i took pictures for the next day. whew! i can’t wait to get goddess faux locs in july- they will most likely hold me over for my entire 3rd trimester and delivery as well. lol. i don’t sweat nearly as much when i’m pregnant when it comes to my workouts, so i’m always able to keep my protective styles in much longer. y’all know i am not about to be worrying about no hair (well, just Kosi’s) for the last leg of this pregnancy! #bloop
friday evening, my little sister, Vanessa, got engaged!!! i met her when she was just 4 years old, yall. i hopped out for a quick picture with her; the kids and i watched the whole thing go down from the truck though.
when Sonny and i first started dating, we bought Vanessa a swimsuit one summer and a few weeks later she couldn’t even fit it. fast forward just a few years and now she’s about to be a whole wife. so, SO thrilled for her and her fiancé, Jordan! he did an amazing job putting the proposal together.
sunday was father’s day!
papa’s got a new set of wheels🚴🏿♂️.
i can’t wait to go on bike dates together so we can argue about which direction to ride🙃.
we love you, papa! thank you for loving us like you do.
last thing- i updated my amazon store recently with a few items you guys ask me about often so take a looksie!
my 3 most used kitchen appliances at the moment:
this thing right here… what an investment. Sonny, ya done good! i’ve used our air fryer a few times a week for over a year now. when it comes to reheating food, Sonny prefers the air fryer over the microwave as well. the menu buttons are super user friendly and this one in particular even comes with a recipe booklet.
a good wok is hard to find- so i found it for ya! another win from Sonny that i use weekly, sometimes twice a day. he is adamant about reading reviews and getting the best band for his buck; i love this wok and totally recommend it to my supporters and cooking class participants.
my good friend and client, Aisha, passed this amazing pan along to me and i use it almost every morning for my omelette. it also pan sears fresh or thawed fish/seafood PERFECTLY. super easy to clean. non-stick pans are life!
i hope YOU are doing well and staying as safe as you possibly can these days. the state of Texas is basically shutting back down again.. fun, fun. i just don’t see our boys going back to school in the Fall… but we are enjoying our summer to the fullest and keeping our eyes peeled for updates every day. so much confusion is happening all around us… but God remains in control.
