Air Fryer French Toast Sticks

these have got BK beat! whole wheat, lightened up breakfast treat.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 8 slices whole grain bread
- 1/3 cup unsweetened vanilla cashew milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp vanilla non-dairy coffee creamer (I like Silk Caramel!)
- 2 tbsp vegan butter, melted
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- pinch himalayan sea salt
- *organic cane sugarfor coating (optional but recommended!)
Instructions
- preheat your air fryer basket for 2 min on 350. afterwards, coat your basket with no stick cooking spray
- combine eggs, milk, vanilla, butter, cinnamon, coffee creamer, & salt
- slice bread into thirds, disregarding the crusts
- quickly dunk each stick into the batter, sprinkle or press lightly with cane sugar on both sides, and lay flat in air fryer basket
- cook on 350 for 5 minutes
- flip sticks, cook for 3-4 more minutes or until desired crispiness
- remove from air fryer basket and serve with syrup and powdered sugar!
Notes
cook time is 8-9 minutes per batch! i would only dunk the sticks you are about to air fry; don't let the sticks sit in the batter too long or else they will be super soggy and might not crisp up as well.
