Cheesy Chicken Sloppy Joes

kid pleaser! protein and flavor packed; quick to cook up any night of the week.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp grapeseed oil
- 1 lb lean ground chicken
- 1 large yellow onion, diced
- 2 large garlic cloves, minced
- 1 lb lean ground chicken
- 1/2 tsp Slap Ya Mama seasoning or seasoning salt of choice
- 3/4 cup low-sugar ketchup
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp chilli powder
- 2 tsp tangy bbq coconut aminos (or regular coconut aminos)
- sea salt to taste
- cracked black pepper to taste
- cheese of choice (I used these vegan slices)
- toasted buns for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add oil.
- once hot, add onion and sauté until translucent, about 5-6 min.
- add garlic and saute for 1 minute.
- add chicken and break up with your spoon and cook until it is no longer pink.
- add seasoned salt and stir to combine.
- stir in ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, coconut aminos, chili powder, and salt & pepper.
- simmer for approx. 5 more minutes until thick.
- portion out the servings you will add to your buns while in the pan and top them with your cheese of choice.
- cover pan for 2 min.
- uncover pan and transfer meat mixture to your toasted buns.
- devour immediately!
