1 year ago! i was proud of this guy then, and was thrilled to finish side by side with him a year later at this past weekend’s Green 6.2! biiiig thanks to my brother for this action shot. we excitedly got our matching Nike fits together the night before! my running shorts have built-in tights and were crazy comfy. my running tank is sold out online, but here, here, and here are some similar, affordable Nike racerback styles you just might like. this one is on my shopping list too! shop all our discounted Nike gear here:
i ran the 10k and Chiso and i both ran in the Kids K. people were thinking he did the 10k with me, but by next year i’m sure he’ll be able to knock a 5k right out!
ooooh just staying warm while waiting on Uncle Thew to arrive. my 10k was up first. it was a gorgeous morning in City Centre for a run. no rain clouds in sight.done! a PR would have been nice, buuuut i just wanted to finish under an hour again since i had not seriously ran long distance since January, yikes. after i crossed the finish line, i ran right into my blogger friend, Cintia! she is a sweet, marathon running mom of 3. then we took a post race fam photo with Uncle Thew’s new Go Pro Hero4. i seriously need that thing! Kid’s K time 🙂
Chiso’s Nike shorts and shirt are on sale right now! there is even a long sleeve version of his shirt that has also been marked down (i linked it above).
i snapped both races; if you aren’t on snap chat though, press play to see the footage below!
we did eeeeeet! before we left, i got a pic with Lisa Jones! we officially met at packet pickup a few days earlier; she remembered Chiso and i from the previous year from my IG pics. way cool! she runs the Instagram account for The Green 6.2 and it was such a pleasure meeting her.we celebrated afterwards with breakfast at Le Peep! i ordered what i always order, the Health Nut.i wanted potatoes this time though so i swapped them with the oatmeal.fluffy, funny face cakes for the boys! Chiso hasn’t napped since he was 2. lol. normally i would take full advantage and do what i’ve always done (get a crap ton of stuff done around the house) but i laid down with Dego and we all enjoyed a post-race saturday afternoon nap. it was a pretty awesome start to our Easter weekend. thanks for reading!
Q: how do you celebrate after a big race? (any distance)
